"Cool off where the river meets the gulf" August 7: Ice-cream Churn-off (3pm) and Tasting (5pm) followed by “Ice, Ice Baby”, a retro-dance party (7-10pm) hosted by Gardens at 268 Water Street. August 14: Snow cones and a concert, riverfront park (7- 10pm). August 21: Cool Jazz on a Hot Summer Night, on the docks at the Icehouse (7-10pm). August 28: Gorrie Square tribute to the Iceman, join biographer Vivian M. Sherlock at the Apalachicola municipal library to discuss the fever man, her biography of Dr. John Gorrie, visit the Gorrie Museum and enjoy music on the square

Feline and Fido festivities include a "Pussy Galor-ious" Beauty Contest and a "Dogged Duds" Fashion Show. Photos will be taken of your pet Prize winners will receive pet gifts and all entrants will receive dog biscuits or cat treats. Apalachicola Bay Chamber will host its annual oyster roast. Enjoy roasted and raw oysters, artichoke and oyster soup, shrimp, crabs, and homemade desserts under the stars on Commerce Street. The Florida Seafood Festival is the State's Oldest Maritime Exhibit. The two day event annually draws thousands of visitors to this scenic historic town at the mouth of the Apalachicola River. The festival features seafood, arts and crafts exhibits, seafood related events and displays under the shady oaks of Apalachicola's Battery Park. Some of the notable events include oyster eating, oyster shucking, a parade, a 5k Redfish Run and a Blessing of the Fleet.
