Apalachicola Maritime Museum
The museum was founded “to celebrate and preserve the maritime history of Apalachicola in a hands-on learning environment with active, sailing, boat building, restoration and educational displays.” The primary exhibit is the 58 foot wooden ketch, Quark, designed by L. Francis Herreshoff. The Quark has since been renamed the Heritage of Apalachicola to reflect its new mission of education. The museum is located near the bridge at 103 Water Street in downtown Apalachicola.
